Key Account Manager

SpinMaster

In just two short years, I have journeyed from a nervous graduate with an ambitious spirit, to an Account Manager in one of the largest toy companies in the world. Through tenacity, creative thinking, and 20 weeks of Proforce modules, I have gone from struggling to complete my first Vlookup in Excel, to driving the companies biggest brand launch in Australia. In just three months as an Account Executive at Spin Master, I had proven that I could go above and beyond my admin duties. Despite having no account management experience, and only being three months into the role, I was granted two small independent accounts. Both accounts, although small, taught me important skills such as planning promotional activities, chasing orders, and managing buyer relationships. After my success with these accounts, I was then granted two of our clearance customers, TK Maxx and The Reject Shop. I put my nose to the grind, and sold more clearance stock than ever before, which resulted in the Australian business having the lowest level of excess/obsolete stock in the company, greatly improving our overall profit margin, in a year where we were struggling to hit our overall KPI. I did not however allow my wins to stop there. Thinking outside of the mould, I saw The Reject Shop as more than just a clearance customer. In 2024, Spin Master had created a range of toys known as The Value Line, which were positioned as slightly cheaper alternatives to our mainline offerings, and had a $9m USD success in the US. With a rising cost of living crisis in Australia, I saw a perfect opportunity to not only grow our business with The Reject Shop, but to also help everyday Australians who were struggling to buy toys for their kids. I worked hard to negotiate a deal with The Reject Shop to range The Value Line in all 150 of its stores across Australia. The deal was a success, and sales have exceeded 50k units YTD, for a forecasted revenue of $172k USD, smashing the $100k KPI for the account. Just 12 months into the role, I had put myself outside my comfort zone and succeeded in launching a range of products in the Australian market, that has now become a priority for the business. My wins in 2024 allowed me to be promoted from Account Executive to Key Account Manager in 2025. This promotion was granted to me just over 12 months into my role, making me the youngest Account Manager in the Australian office. I am responsible for looking after Spin Master’s $2BN USD acquisition of Melissa & Doug on our Amazon account, as well as looking after the Myer account. Melissa & Doug is the world’s leading wooden toy brand, specialising in infant/preschool early learning and development. Within four months, I had finalised a deal with Myer to range 25 skus of Melissa & Doug, a deal which has made the account worth $900k USD, smashing the $600k USD KPI. Initial sales of Melissa & Doug in Myer are enormous, with the highest RRP line selling out in just over a month. Myer have already raised their forecasts for Melissa & Doug and are strongly consider expanding the range, with a retail activation commencing in October. I have also had considerable wins with Amazon through Melissa & Doug. With only three months of sales, Melissa & Doug has already surpassed six of Spin Master’s brands YTD and is set to grow from $640k USD in 2025 to $1.2M USD in 2026 and has become one of Amazon’s top priorities. My career in sales has been more fulfilling than I could imagine. Proforce has granted me an opportunity to have an impact beyond just the numbers, allowing kids across the country to learn and play in ways they could not have before. For this reason, I believe that I’m a strong candidate for Rising Star.
