When I reflect on my journey since joining Moneytech through the ProForce ProGradian program just six months ago, I’m proud of how far I’ve come in such a short time. Transitioning from University in New Zealand to moving for my Masters to then ending up in a new career and country was a leap into the unknown. What I discovered was a passion for finance, a resilience to thrive under pressure, and a commitment to contributing to both my team and the broader business. In that time, I’ve completed more than 120 deals worth over $15 million in settlements. This achievement is particularly meaningful because I reached it while navigating the unexpected departure of my BDM. Rather than stepping back, I stepped up - managing the entire process from application through to settlement. This required building confidence, mastering Moneytech’s core products quickly, and ensuring brokers received exceptional communication and turnaround times. The results speak for themselves. In recent months I have consistently ranked at the top of the team for both deal numbers and values. I also became one of the very few to qualify for commission while still on probation, something rarely achieved. One achievement I’m most proud of is the feedback I’ve received directly from brokers. Several have reached out to personally thanking me for my responsiveness, with some offering to send gifts as a gesture of appreciation. Beyond efficiency, I’ve built stronger partnerships by listening to hear not to speak - drawing on my psychology degree - and responding with empathy. This approach has transformed broker relationships, with many now proactively workshopping deals with me. In turn, I’ve strengthened Moneytech’s reputation and created new opportunities. For me, contribution means improving the way the team works. Early on, I identified an inconsistency between credit assessment matrixes used across the business. Raising the issue with leadership led to a change that streamlined processes for both our team and brokers. These improvements show my willingness to speak up and drive positive change. Collaboration is at the heart of how I work. I start my day early to ensure settlements cutoff times meet deadlines and to support the broader team. My fellow BDOs and I frequently collaborate outside work hours, sharing ideas and troubleshooting deals together. Our success is collective, and I am proud to contribute to that culture of support and shared achievement. Through ProForce’s training modules - particularly in negotiation and presentation skills - I’ve built confidence to communicate effectively in high-pressure scenarios. These opportunities, combined with on-the-job learning, have accelerated my growth. My immediate goal is to step into a BDM role within the next year, and my long-term ambition is to become a senior leader in the industry, championing women in finance. I’ve learned that with determination, adaptability and a focus on people, you can make a big difference early in your career. From record deal volumes, process improvements or stronger broker relationships, I’ve worked hard to add value to Moneytech. I’ve laid the foundation for a future that captures the spirit of the Rising Star Award.
