I was recruited by Kathryn Whitehead 11 years ago for a Graduate Management position in QLD. Over this time I have progressed my career across the country. Becoming a Manager after 18mths of a 3yr program and managing 5 different business across QLD and NT ranging from 2-25M in revenue each. Two years ago I was promoted to General Manager of South Australia in an Executive Management role, reporting to the CEO. Rewardingly, I now have the opportunity to construct and tailor my very own Graduate Program for the region. I personally review and select all candidates, formulate the program and training and work with each Graduate on their individual development plans. I'm fortunate enough to be able to mentor, develop and hopefully inspire the next generation of leaders and professionals, leaning on and sharing my experiences from when I was in their shoes, to now. It has been surreal and incredibly rewarding. For the first time in my life I feel I am in the right place for me, both professionally and personally. I recall the 'Self Actualisation' quadrant from Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs being a suitable descriptive of how I feel now. If Kathryn hadn't called me up, I would never have followed this path and landed in the best organisation I could ever have dreamed of. The journey has been eventful, challenging, exciting and has made me who I am today. I really am fulfilled and feel like I am using what God gave me. I now know my purpose is to teach others. To coach, mentor, inspire and develop them to their fullest potential. This is what I spend most of my time doing now and it is a beautiful thing. I look forward to doing this for many more years and am so grateful that I have found this contentment at age 34.
